Hinter dem kuriosen Bandnamen steckt eine ziemlich klare musikalische Idee: Old School Death Metal, angereichert mit einer Prise Grindcore und einem Augenzwinkern in Richtung Yeti-Mythologie. Die Band selbst nennt das Ganze scherzhaft \u201eNeanderthal Metal\u201c beziehungsweise inzwischen \u201eDenisovan Metal\u201c. Ein Konzept, das definitiv Charme besitzt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Musikalisch gibt es auf <strong>\u201eSnowbound Horror\u201c<\/strong> genau das, was man erwarten darf. Tiefergestimmte Gitarren, wuchtige Riffs und vor allem jede Menge Groove. Die Platte geht ordentlich nach vorne, ohne dabei st\u00e4ndig nur auf Geschwindigkeit zu setzen. Songs wie <em>Vengeance in Fur<\/em>, <em>Tusk of the Yeti<\/em> oder der Titeltrack <em>Snowbound Horror<\/em> machen dabei durchaus Spa\u00df und zeigen, dass die Herren ihr Handwerk verstehen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5692\" src=\"https:\/\/kernkraftritter.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/RBTY-Photo-300x164.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"613\" height=\"335\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Besonders Rogga Johansson ist f\u00fcr mich nat\u00fcrlich ein Pluspunkt. Ich mag seine Arbeiten grunds\u00e4tzlich sehr gerne und auch hier liefert er wieder gewohnt solide Kost ab. Gemeinsam mit Mike Borders am Bass und Jon Rudin am Schlagzeug bildet er die neue Besetzung, die dem Yeti erneut Leben einhaucht.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Trotzdem bleibt bei mir nach den knapp 35 Minuten ein kleines Fragezeichen zur\u00fcck. <strong>\u201eSnowbound Horror\u201c<\/strong> ist keineswegs ein schlechtes Album. Im Gegenteil: Die Platte macht Spa\u00df, klingt ordentlich und passt wunderbar in die Old-School-Death-Metal-Schublade. Nur fehlt mir am Ende ein wenig das gewisse Etwas, das einzelne Songs auch nach dem H\u00f6ren noch l\u00e4nger im Kopf bleiben l\u00e4sst.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Unterm Strich also ein solides Death-Metal-Album mit einer sympathisch bekloppten Idee, starken Musikern und jeder Menge Yeti-Charme.
